Pre-Sales Engineer

Nastel is expanding our field sales team and has two openings for Pre-Sales Engineers, one in the Midwest/Chicagoland area and one in the NYMetro/MidAtlantic US.

The Pre-Sales Engineer at Nastel Technologies is a Senior Sales Engineer position. The role demands demonstrated proficiency in key components of Nastel’s technologies as well as industry expertise in related technologies as described below. This role offers an aggressive compensation plan and offers an unlimited earning potential. Individuals achieving this level of performance must be available for up to 75% travel as needed to support the sales organization. The individual must be flexible, dynamic and understand the sales process in detail.

Responsibilities (General):

  • Work closely with sales representatives to identify, qualify, and close business
  • Be proficient in RFP/RFI responses, documentation and all forms of written communication
  • Have strong organization/planning skills for both client facing and internal situations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of client facing situations
  • Lead pre-sales projects, technical resources and coordinate with stake holders
  • Manage the proof of concept process from planning phase to wrap-up
  • Adapt Nastel’s software solution to a client’s requirements
  • Establish credibility and ultimately technical acceptance from clients
  • Work independently and as part of a team depending on the given situation
  • Flexible, accountable and self-motivated, able to work from remotely with minimal supervision

Responsibilities (Technical):

  • Expert Knowledge in two of the following:
    • MQ, Message Broker, Queue Managers, Channels etc.
    • J2EE environments – Websphere, WebLogic, JBoss, etc.
    • Mainframe technologies – CICS, DB2, MQ etc.
  • Knowledge of byte code instrumentation, class loaders, JDBC, JMS, HTTP, WebServices, SOA
  • Knowledge of .Net environments – IIS, .Net CLR, Profiling API, ADO.net, MSMQ etc.
  • Knowledge of Middleware messaging platforms, Tibco (RV/EMS), MQ, Solace, Data Power, BizTalk
  • Understand and implement Application Performance Monitoring best practices in mid/large scale IT environments
  • Create presentations, reports and summary documents highlighting Nastel’s unique value proposition over and above traditional monitoring solutions

Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Software Developer

This position is for a Software Developer working in an area that is built on both Microsoft technologies and Java based technology.  The majority of initial development will be in C/C++ maintain and enhancing the existing technology but will transition over time to development in Java.  The right individual for this opportunity will have a strong background in C++ but have a desire to develop in Java.

Responsibilities of APM Software Developer:

  • Work with other developers, management, CTO and technology services teams to identify software requirements
  • Estimate development time, manage technical deliverables, and identify risks and opportunities
  • Understand technical details, product interactions and usage 
  • Develop and unit test software and deliver a high quality product

Requirements of APM Software Developer:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Solid Understanding of Object Oriented Design
  • 3-5+ years of experience developing applications using Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC)
  • Expertise in C++
  • Proficiency in Java

Java Software Developer

This position is dedicated to developing software using Java based technology. Working with the primary foundation of Nastel, AutoPilot, this position will have opportunity to develop new functions and extensions to the existing technology.  The right person for this opportunity will have a strong background in Java as well as integration technologies, such as web services.

  • Work with other developers, management, CTO and technology services teams to identify software requirements
  • Estimate development time, manage technical deliverables, and identify risks and opportunities
  • Understand technical details, product interactions and usage 
  • Develop and unit test software and deliver a high quality product

Requirements of Java Software Developer:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Solid Understanding of Object Oriented Design
  • 3-5+ years of experience developing applications using Java
  • Proficiency in using application interfaces and APIs for integration

This position is dedicated to developing software using C++ and C#. Leveraging experience with .net technologies, this position will have opportunity to develop new functions and extensions to the existing technology.  The right person for this opportunity will have a strong backround in Microsoft .net including using the profiling API to understand application performance.

  • Understand technical details, product interactions and usage 
  • Develop and unit test software and deliver a high quality product

Requirements of .Net Internals Specialist:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Solid Understanding of Object Oriented Design
  • 3-5+ years of experience developing applications using .net (C++ and C#)
  • Proficiency in .net profiling API in .net V2 and V4
