Melville, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2009 — Nastel Technologies, a premier global provider of business transaction performance™ (BTP™) solutions for mission-critical applications spanning both the distributed and mainframe tiers, today announced that it recently finished collaborating with partner IBM to build mainframe products, integrations and components for its AutoPilot® product line at IBM’s Innovation Center in Dallas.

Nastel believes that the mainframe is an essential market and plans to continue developing System z products following its recent induction into IBM’s Destination z solution provider community. The continued development will accommodate many of Nastel’s customers, who have environments where their business transactions span both the distributed and mainframe tiers and require a BTP solution that provides a consolidated view of operations and transactions in a business context across both tiers.

By joining IBM PartnerWorld®, Nastel was able to use the development resources and assistance available to help build integrations to IBM platforms and software. Nastel engaged with the IBM® Innovation Center in Dallas to use the System z® Remote Development Program to further develop their solutions, AutoPilot M6™ and AutoPilot TransactionWorks® (a recent addition to the product family).

At the IBM Innovation Center, among other projects, Nastel developed its zLinux port of AutoPilot, agents for WebSphere Application Server on zLinux, probes for MQ-CICS, an application instrumentation module and a transaction analyzer for System z, and support for z/OS coupling facilities.

Nastel’s AutoPilot M6 Suite, featuring the newest addition to the product family – AutoPilot TransactionWorks – provides unique 360° situational awareness™ of the entire IT environment, encompassing both transactional and operational data in a unified business context. AutoPilot TransactionWorks is the only solution providing auto-discovery and performance management of composite, multi-tiered transactions that span from the mainframe to distributed middleware to the application servers to the database and back — positioning AutoPilot as an industry leader. AutoPilot and its embedded complex event processing (CEP) engine enables you to quickly find and fix problems – and even predict and prevent them – before they can impact your business.

“IBM’s mainframe expertise and facilities made it much easier to strengthen our offering in the System z world,” said Charley Rich, vice president of marketing and product management for Nastel. “Our strategic partnership gives us the opportunity to develop complex, targeted solutions that might not be otherwise possible.”
